The duo of electric action in Hollywood makes a comeback on record. The highly anticipated thriller Viva La Madness, directed by Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie, is finished, sparking off flames all over the world in terms of buzz of one of the most long-awaited reunions that can ever happen in the movie industry.
Ten Years Coming

The novel Viva La Madness was originally given the rights by Statham to the novel by J.J. Connolly in 2013. It was a personally significant and long-desired shooting project for both Statham and Ritchie once the movie entered active production in early 2026, more or less one decade after having been initially developed.
Officially Wrapped

In May 2026, Guy Ritchie announced that Viva La Madness is now officially undergoing shooting, shifting to post-production. In a Collider interview to publicize In The Grey, Ritchie noted that he loved having Statham work on the film and joked that it is indeed what the title of the film suggests: quote perfect.
The Novel’s Roots

Viva La Madness is a movie version of the 2011 novel of the same title by J.J. Connolly, a literary follow-up to his debut book, Layer Cake. Connolly co-wrote with Ritchie the screenplay, with the adaptation having a genuine voice that is directly based on the darkly comic and gritty world of the source material.
Explosive Ensemble Cast

Seven major cast expansions, along with Statham, were confirmed by London production, such as Jason Isaacs, Vinnie Jones, Babs Olusanmokun, Camila Mendes, Ben Foster, Jonny Lee Miller, and Grammy-nominated Latin star Raul Alejandro in his first feature acting performance.
Ritchie Reunion Record

Viva La Madness is the seventh time that Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie have worked together. In 1998, they began working on the first piece of acting work of his life, and the first project they were involved in was Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which was the first acting work in a feature film in which Statham was involved in the history of the modern action film.
Vinnie Jones Returns

The movie Viva La Madness has among its main cast members Vinnie Jones, i.e., it is his fifth collaboration with the director Guy Ritchie. Jones has worked closely with Ritchie on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Mean Machine, and the Netflix series The Gentlemen, establishing an unprecedented and extremely long-lasting creative partnership.
Distribution Powerhouses

The domestic distribution for the film in North America will be done by Black Bear, and the film will be released in most other areas by Amazon MGM Studios. The creation of the project was done through Punch Palace Productions of Statham and Lumina Studios of Thomas Benski, Toff Guy Films, and Black Bear of Ritchie.
Madness Unleashed

According to Guy Ritchie, the film is as insane as its title indicates; however, it is inspired by the heyday of a much-lauded novel by Connolly. The narration narrates the story of drug dealer X, who gets sucked into trans-Atlantic drug deals, money laundering, and cartel gun battles following a non-aggressive yet brief Caribbean holiday.
Expected 2027 Release

It is probable that Viva La Madness will come out in 2027, and this will be one of the most anticipated film releases of Statham in several years. As the post-production process is already in progress and one of the most powerful casts is booked, the movie is well on its way to becoming one of the grand occasions of the year in terms of action films.
