James Gunn’s new DC Universe is already being formed with movies and TV shows featuring Superman, Supergirl, and the Bat Family. However, there are still many heroes and villains in the DC universe that haven’t been officially announced in the vast DC mythology. From their comic book past and links to new projects, these are 10 characters that many fans would like to see in the new DCU.
Green Arrow

Oliver Queen had been a very rich playboy, but has come to be known as one of DC’s best archers, and a longtime member of the Justice League. He’s a sarcastic dude and has got a lot of arrows for his tricks, which might lend a different dimension to the DCU. He’s a good fit with Black Canary and worked with the Justice League before, so there’s plenty of room for story ideas.
Bizarro

Bizarro is the flawed version of Superman; he is sometimes a villain and sometimes a misunderstood character. One of the weirdest opponents of the Man of Steel is his backwards logic and the inverted powers. He could even provide an unexpected contrast to David Corenswet’s more optimistic Superman.
Black Canary

Dinah Lance brings her signature Canary Cry to top-tier Martial Arts abilities. She has been a part of the Justice League and Birds of Prey and has had a long-time relationship with Green Arrow. A Green Arrow–Black Canary team-up would bring a quintessential comic-book dynamic to the DCU.
Deathstroke

One of the toughest mercenaries in DC is Slade Wilson, who had an experimental procedure performed on him to boost his strength and reflexes. He is also a great fit for any future DCU tale as he rivals the likes of The Flash and the Teen Titans.
Zatanna

Zatanna Zatara is a stage magician among DC’s strongest magic users, who casts spells by speaking backwards. She could explore more of the mystical aspects of the DCU and add to stories that are set within the realm of magic and the supernatural.
Martian Manhunter

J’onzz is an alien who can also transform into a human being, and one of the original members of the Justice League. He can telepathy, super strength,a nd be invisible. Although the character has been important in the lore of DC, he has had limited appearances in live-action movies.
Etrigan the Demon

Bound to the immortal Jason Blood, Etrigan is a demon who rhymes and has a tremendous amount of supernatural strength. His combination of horror and fantasy fits the theme of the first chapter of the DCU: “Gods and Monsters”.
Constantine

John Constantine is an occult detective who is highly cynical and has a strong association with the supernatural world. There is a Swamp Thing project in the works, so many fans believe he is an obvious fit for the DCU’s magical corner.
Wally West

Wally West was the original Kid Flash, but later became the main Flash when Barry Allen died in “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. He’s still one of the more popular speedsters of DC history. Wally might be a new avenue to explore the Flash narrative.
Nightwing

The first Robin was Dick Grayson, who became Nightwing. He is a mix of Batman’s training and a more optimistic and charitable attitude. With more and more members joining the Bat-Family, this is an excellent opportunity for Nightwing to make his big-screen debut!
