Many witches and wizards had one or more memorable appearances, but only a few were seen throughout the series. Some characters had more control over the series than others, with screen-time analyses compiled by film researchers and fan databases. These 10 characters appeared more on screen than any other characters in the Harry Potter films.
Harry Potter

Daniel Radcliffe plays Harry, the main character of the series, and he is in almost every major scene. He spent about 539 minutes in front of screens during the eight movies, according to screen-time analyses.
Ron Weasley

Harry’s most common companion is Rupert Grint’s Ron, who features in almost every adventure. In total, it is estimated that he spends 211 minutes on the screen.
Hermione Granger

From start to finish, Hermione of Emma Watson is a major character. Her intelligence and problem-solving skills get her into many key scenes, and she has around 205 minutes of screen time.
Albus Dumbledore

The headmaster of Hogwarts is a recurring character in the series, serving as Harry’s mentor and guide. Between Richard Harris and Michael Gambon, Dumbledore has about 77 minutes of screen time.
Severus Snape

The Potions Master’s character, played by Alan Rickman, became one of the most popular performances in the franchise. Snape is present in all the movies, and they are estimated to have around 74 minutes of screen time.
Rubeus Hagrid

Hagrid is introduced by Robbie Coltrane and is a major ally over the course of the series to Harry, who is the one who introduces him to the wizarding world. The much-loved half-giant makes a cameo for about 45 minutes between the movies.
Lord Voldemort

Voldemort is the principal antagonist of the franchise, but his screen time is comparatively short in comparison to the main characters. The Dark Lord, played by Ralph Fiennes, only comes in for about 37 minutes.
Draco Malfoy

It would not be wrong to say that Tom Felton’s Draco evolves from school rival to a more complex character over the course of the series. He spent about 31 minutes on screen.
Sirius Black

Sirius was Gary Oldman’s Harry, and he was one of Harry’s closest family members, but he didn’t show up in many films. His scenes are about 26 minutes of screen time.
Minerva McGonagall

The character of Professor McGonagall is played by Maggie Smith and is one of the most esteemed characters at Hogwarts, and it’s through the franchise. Her total screen time is about 24 minutes.
