Netflix is in the limelight in May 2026. Among supernatural thrillers, live comedy roasts, popular series returning, and animated films, this month can easily be regarded as one of the strongest and most diverse offers on the platform this year.
The Boroughs
According to Netflix Tudum, all eight episodes of The Boroughs have dropped on May 21, 2026. It is a supernatural mystery executive-produced by the Duffer Brothers, with Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, and Bill Pullman playing retired people in a New Mexico town, with a thin veneer that is actually horrifying.
Bright Creatures
According to What’s On Netflix, Remarkably Bright Creatures, directed by Olivia Newman and starring Sally Field and Lewis Pullman, is hands-down the best film of May. A widow makes a friend with a smart giant Pacific octopus, who assists in finding the truth of the disappearance of her son thirty years earlier.
Murder Returns
The second season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is coming May 27, 2026, according to Variety. Emma Myers returns as sleuth Pip Fitz-Amobi in another mystery as sleuth, after a Season 1 of the series was one of the most-watched international drama series on Netflix in 2024.
Four Seasons Back
According to TV Guide, Tina Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield make the Four Seasons, and it was renewed to have a second season in May 2026. Based on the 1981 Alan Alda movie as inspiration, it reunites its entire cast in a new series of messy, old-school friendship and old-school relationship comedy.
Devil May Cry
According to What’s on Netflix, Devil May Cry Season 2 is coming on May 12, 2026. The dark fantasy anime rebranding of the name Capcom video game line has gained cult status with the first season and now returns with a lot more at stake, and a significantly larger mythology of demons to fight.
Heist Series Nemesis
According to What’s On Netflix, in the Power creator, Courtney Kemp, viewers will embark on a heist with high stakes, starring Matthew Law and Y’lan Noel in Nemesis. The cop-and-robber thriller utilises Kemp in forming crime stories based on ethical flaws and reversing alliances, as well as unrelenting suspense.
Roasting Hart
As Variety reported, in May 2026, Netflix staged The Roast of Kevin Hart, a live comedy show, and companion special Funny AF with Kevin Hart. Both shows mark the latest move in Netflix increasing its bets on appointment comedy since the big successes of previous roasts of Tom Brady and Nikki Glaser.
Swapped Arrives

Based on the lives of Awkwafina, Jack Black and John Mulaney as a poodle and a raccoon magically transferring their bodies, it provides the animation on the level of Pixar in the most adorable family film of May.
Flies Reimagined
What’s On Netflix states that there will be a four-part Lord of the Flies limited series, which will be released on Netflix in May 2026, including an hour-long documentary about its production. The adaptation takes one of the most analysed texts of literature to a whole new generation of streaming audience all over the world this month.

TV Guide reported that Netflix was opened on May 1, 2026, and the licensed films included Schindler’s List, The Breakfast Club, Pretty Woman, Green Book, and Jumanji.
