Prime Video is full of blockbusters, and the gems are down in the catalog. These seven unknown mystery thrillers drop food to the floor, strangle with suspense, and memorable performances without having the mainstream attention they rightfully merit. Prime Video has thousands of titles, but its lesser-known gems are seldom visible. Rather, mystery thrillers in particular are lost in the wake of flashy originals.

The unique creation of Charles Laughton is a French movie with Southern Gothic elements and key participants, such as Robert Mitchum, a serial killer who pretends to be a preacher. He is after two kids who have stolen money. Its dark and gloomy cinematography and haunting images have inspired many generations of film directors, such as Martin Scorsese.

In the debut of Richard Kelly, Jake Gyllenhaal portrays the role of a troubled teenager who almost dies after having an episode of sleepwalking and starts seeing disturbing visions. A psychological thriller but also with elements of existential science fiction, the creative cult film transformed a flop at the box office into a cult hit.
Triangle (2009)

The time-loop thriller of Christopher Smith revolves around a group of friends, headed by Melissa George (young Liam Hemsworth), who find haven on a deserted ocean liner. Based on the myth of Sisyphus, the movie creates a nightmare of a brilliantly logical horror format that pays off for those attentive enough to view it. It earned only 1.3 million even as it received good reviews.
Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (2009)

Jesse Metcalfe stars as a reporter who is set up to be killed to bring to light a corrupt district attorney who is corrupt (Michael Douglas). When the toxic scheme goes amok, he is on the run to show that he is innocent. This legal thriller has several twists, which twist on top of deception, making it one of the crime gems that are underestimated on Prime Video.

With a very modest budget of $50,000 and filmed in only five days, the movie by James Ward Byrkit tells about eight friends during a dinner party when a comet flies above. Reality is broken, and paranoia sinks in when power goes off. The play, which relies heavily on improv with actor note cards, generates truly disturbing, natural tension.
Before I Go to Sleep (2014)

Produced and directed by Rowan Joffe, the psychological thriller stars Nicole Kidman as a woman, Christine, who is unable to remember anything past the end of a night. Starring Colin Firth and Mark Strong, it is her frenzied recordings of the events that she discovers the hideous realities behind her life. Adapted by S.J. Watson based on his bestseller.
The Vast of Night (2019)

The trendy science-fiction mystery of Andrew Patterson is set in New Mexico in the 1950s. On one crazy night, switchboard operator Fay (Sierra McCormick) and radio DJ Everett (Jake Horowitz) explore a strange audio frequency. This Amazon Studios production was shot on a budget of $700,000, and it garnered a lot of praise at Slamdance.
