Peter Parker is back -and even the whole world has forgotten him. Tom Holland and Zendaya are back in what is already emotionally charged as a Spider-Man movie, but No Way Home is continuing the heartbreaking storylines of, in a chapter Marvel is calling a proper rebirth.
A Time Interlude of 4 Years

Brand New Day continues from No Way Home four years later. Peter is now living all by himself in New York without being erased from the memory of his loved ones. The official synopsis confirms his life dedication to save a city, which has forgotten his existence.
Tom Holland Returns

This is the fourth MCU franchise where Tom Holland reprises the role of Peter Parker. He affirmed on The Tonight Show that production would start mid 2025, as the script as a fire that had lit a fire in him, and the creative focus was the most exciting part of his Spider-Man career thus far.
MJ is Back as Zendaya

In February 2025, Deadline confirmed that Zendaya would be returning as Michelle Jones. She appears, even though, due to Doctor Strange’s spell, MJ cannot recall Peter anymore. The trailer disclosed a letter Peter had written to her, which concludes by him hoping that there is something inside of her, which still remembers that, one day, she loved him.
A New Leader Comes In

The Shang-Chi director, Destin Daniel Cretton, takes over from Jon Watts in this sequel. The movie is the 38th Marvel Cinematic Universe film, and the fifth of Phase Six. It relates to the Avengers empire with the isolated story of Peter, who is a street-level hero with no support, recognition, or one to recall who he is.
An Impressive Wicked Gallery

Brand New Day puts together one of the greatest villain lineups ever of Spider-Man. Scorpion, Tombstone, and other villains reunite with Michael Mando and Marvin Jones III, respectively, and are joined by other menaces to form what Marvel considers to be the biggest challenge that Peter Parker has ever had to deal with throughout his entire lifespan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Important MCU Collaborators Unite

Jacob Batalon reappears as Ned, who does not remember any memory of Peter. On screen, Jon Bernthal has reinvented the Punisher, making him a partner of Spider-Man. Mark Ruffalo stars again as Bruce Banner, in the official trailer, cautioning Peter that his DNA was rapidly mutating, and might be very dangerous, and his very existence as Spider-Man might be at risk.
Peter Has Mutated Everything

The synopsis of the film shows that Peter experiences a genetic change that opens to him the possibility of webbing organically, without mechanical web-shooters. This biological change also makes him lose body control – the most drastic physical change the character has ever undergone in his whole tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.
Sadie Sink is the Newcomer to the MCU

In March 2025, Deadline confirmed that Stranger Things added Sadie Sink, who will play an unspecified role. Her casting has caused fan theorizing on the Internet. Her character is one of the most secretive ones in the movie until the July 31, 2026, worldwide release date.
A Huge 2026 MCU Summer

Brand new day arrives on July 31, 2026, two months after Avengers: Doomsday – in the same way Far From Home came after Endgame. Cinematographed by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, it comes as the most grounded MCU film of the summer, constructed around a Spider-Man who is finally free to act fully alone without allies, mentors, or people to remember him.
Why This Film is Important

According to Marvel, the movie Brand New Day is the first Spider-Man film that can be viewed as one that can stand on its own, with no Tony Stark, no Avengers, and no one aware that Peter is there. That reset provides Holland with his best chance so far. This shapes up as the most consequential emotionally-charged chapter of the MCU in recent years, months to be released July 31, 2026.
