This Sci-Fi is a Netflix Original Series and one of the best Sci-Fi projects ever created for this platform. It is a complete trilogy from the very start and thus it is very fulfilling to watch. It starts on a Friday evening and by Sunday morning you have finished it all.
Franchise Origins
There was a original Lost in Space series that aired on CBS in 1965 and was a classic science fiction series. It was actually based on a novel, The Swiss Family Robinson, written by Johann David Wyss in 1812. The novel was about a family’s survival on a deserted island and clearly it was a premise that was never to go out of style.
Created With Purpose
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless created the Lost in Space series. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless created the series and showrunner Zack Estrin took over in Season 1. Netflix, as a platform, knew that this was a story that was meant to be told in a trilogy. A clear beginning, middle and end and no loose ends.
The Core Plot
Lost in Space is a science fiction show that is centered around a family trying to hold together as they are stranded on an alien planet. The Robinsons were picked to be part of a massive space mission that would head to the Alpha Centauri star system as part of a colonizing mission aboard a massive ship known as the Resolute.However things go hayware when the family crashlands in a hostile alien planet and to survive they must use all their knowledge and tools.

Molly Parker as Ma and Toby Stephens as Pa Robinson are the shining light of show.Maxwell Jenkins,Taylor Russell and Mina Sundwall as Will,Penny and Judy are impressive . Parker Posey as Dr.Smith and Ignacio Serricchio as Robot delivered best performances of the series.
Parker Posey Shines
Parker Posey brings incredible depth to her character of Dr. Smith.This villain is far more complex than anything that was displayed in the 1960s series of Lost in Space.The Unpredictable , manipulative villain Dr.Smith is undoubtedly the greatest aspect of Netflix series and more the reason to watch this show.
Production Powerhouse
This show is produced by Legendary Television in association with Synthesis Entertainment, Clickety-Clack Productions and Applebox Entertainment. Season one premiered on Netflix on April 13, 2018. Season two of Lost in Space launched on the service on December 1, 2019. The trilogy concluded on the same date in 2021.
Visual Spectacle
From a visual standpoint the show looks incredible.Setting against remote alien planets, different spacecrafts like the Robinson vessel, its absolutely fantastic on the big TV screen . It is the most visually stunning and well realised Sci-Fi Netflix has to offer.
A Complete Story
Lost in Space is so refreshing in a world of failed shows that have been cancelled midway and have been left to wither and die. The show is complete from start to finish and is provided to the audience in a neat package of three seasons. Each character is given closure that is deserved.

A blend of the realistic, the authentic family dynamics, and a great and bold science fiction story is what sets Lost in Space apart from the rest of the pack of Netflix sci-fi productions. It received critical acclaim from fans of the original and from new fans alike and is therefore one of the best science fiction productions on the platform.
