Bollywood’s big action star Ajay Devgn is all set to take a step back to his roots. The star, announcing his next big venture on a very personal day, is preparing himself for a high-stakes patriotic entertainer. The project was officially unveiled with the tagline, “CHAUHAAN aa raha hai” (Chauhaan is on the way). The 2-minute and 24-second title announcement video leaves Ajay Devgn as a very intense army officer, named Chauhaan.
The Mega Announcement
The official title and first teaser of Chauhaan were released on 25/06/2026. The project is being marketed as a big-screen action show of gargantuan proportions to establish Ajay Devgn as the “OG action star” of Hindi cinema.
A Deeply Personal Dedication
The movie was strategically announced. It was revealed on the birth anniversary of Ajay Devgn’s late father, Veeru Devgan. The film is a tribute to Bollywood’s iconic and legendary stunt and action director, and a grand one at that.
A Powerhouse Production Team
Chauhaan has some of the biggest names of the Indian film industry together. It is being funded by co-founders Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai, and Himanshu Sharma, who are both creatives at Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions.
A Fresh Directorial Vision
Director Neeraj Yadav has made his feature film debut as the helmsman on the ship. Though he is new to the directorial chair, Yadav is well known for his excellent writing on noted movies such as An Action Hero and Tere Ishk Mein.
A Milestone Collaboration
In a surprising twist, Ajay Devgn has teamed up with renowned filmmaker Aanand L Rai for the first time in their careers. Rai’s signature emotional storytelling and Devgn’s intense action persona are something fans are very eager to see in the film.

The story unfolds against the backdrop of a rather tumultuous situation in the town of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, around 2018, which is expected to be an intense and high-stakes military drama.

The protagonist, Ajay Devgn, is an officer in the Indian Army who has a huge emotional investment as well as significant problems of national security. He’s presented with a rugged look as per the intensity of the region, as announced.
