I GREW UP IN THE 70s & 80s via facebook
The 1970s were the years of providing the television with some of the most memorable classics, and not all of the successful series managed to retain their positions in the cultural arena. Along with the household names of the time were the creative dramas, humorous comedies and grandiose adventures that once entertained the audiences and eventually slipped off the mainstream radar. They were some of the forgotten gems that contributed to the development of modern television in their own right, showing that even neglected shows can leave a creative legacy to the generations of future viewers.
Kolchak Returns

Prior to the emergence of supernatural mystery programs as a television staple, Kolchak: The Night Stalker presented viewers with newspaper reporter who was on the hunt to find both weird creatures and unfathomable crimes across the dark streets of the city. Its spooky plotlines and monster of the week format inspired numerous subsequent genre hits, but the series is seldom discussed beyond TV history enthusiast circles.
Salvage Mission

Salvage 1 envisioned a group of amateur spacecraft constructors to salvage outer space debris and mix science fiction with blue collar craftsmanship in such a manner that few shows could have ventured at that time. It was a highly unconventional idea in network TV, and although this idea was highly creative, the show faded into obscurity soon afterwards.
Space Academy

Coming in the late 1970s when science fiction was booming, Space Academy entered the world offering young audiences an exploration of the future through the training of future life among the stars. With a small budget, the show still won the hearts of children who demanded television to dream bigger.
Holmes Duo

Holmes and Yoyo muted a fumbling detective with an android partner who was malfunctioning, forming one of the weirdest buddy cop setups of the decade. It had a weird sense of humor and an even more visionary robotic idea that people who watched it did not forget about it, though it was soon forgotten by mainstream viewers.
Bearcats Adventure

Bearcats! was set in the American West and followed the adventures of two troubleshooters on deadly missions with style, speed and lots of swagger. It was an expensive and ambitious series of the time but even though it started well, it was quickly forgotten as soon as it was introduced to the public.
Lucan Wild

Lucan narrated a strange tale of a young man brought up by wolves who went back to civilization in search of his history. With emotional drama mixed with elements of adventure, it presented an idea like no other that was shown on the television at that time and has since become a true cult curiosity.
Courtroom Class

The Paper Chase turned the stresses of law school into spellbinding television, demonstrating that academia rivalry could be as intense as any crime drama. Its acute writing and clever acting won the approval of the critics, yet it is much less remembered than many of the lighter shows of the same period.
Angie Charm

Angie was a refreshing and genuine presence to the sitcom format with a plot that revolved around romance, family demands, and social distinctions in real life. The show was a success in terms of ratings at one time but slowly dropped out of the nostalgia talk even though it was a prime time favorite.
